Fuck, KILL, Marry

Halloween Candy, where bars meet arcades, and comedy shows!

Candy Corn

The Halloween season may be over, but candy corn, and the controversy surrounding it, remains on my mind. It’s a controversy that I just didn’t understand as a kid - why the hate around something that’s literally just sugar? I’m not going to eat a whole bag in one sitting, but it’s a treat that I’ll enjoy yearly. There is a time and place for it. But as I’ve gotten older I’ve come to realize - candy corn is simply an acquired taste. Like craft beer and anchovies, it’s something that is actually extremely nuanced.

Barcades

I hate them. These are some of the most low vibrational places on earth. It cannot be more obvious to me that someone looked up “fun things to do in my area” when they suggest attending a barcade. They’re even worse than Dave and Busters - at least with Dave and Busters, there’s an element of camp and irony to them. You go to a Dave and Busters as a bit. Barcades are different. People choose to go to barcades because they genuinely think that they will be cool and fun. They’re not. Stop asking me to go to these. And don’t get me started on ax throwing bars.

No Paparazzi!

It’s my own show that I produce, so of course I had to plug this! No Paparazzi! is a stand up comedy showcase featuring some of New York’s best comedians - mixed in with iconic pop culture commentary from hosts Lexi Notrica and myself. Our next date is on November 22nd at 9:30pm at Caveat on the Lower East Side - get some dinner before and join us for the afterparty down the block at Donnybrook for the perfect night out in the city before you go home for Thanksgiving!
